Clark Plays Guitar: Listen to the Music

Stainless (with a Touch of Cosmic Power)

(Clark Plays Guitar)
Clark Colborn
"Stainless" spent over 30 weeks in the Top 5 on Internet Radio, and was Number One for FIVE weeks! And the story behind it is this:

This song came to me, almost finished, in a dream - sort of! I had been up very late working on another song the night before, & had to get up early to take my kids to school. When I got back to the studio I started to work on the track from the previous night. After a couple of hours I sat down on a couch just outside the studio door, & began to doze off. I was almost completely asleep, when I began to hear this drumbeat in my head... then this crushing riff kicks in! I was right on the edge of wakefulness, but I couldn't quite force myself to become fully awake. In fact I dozed deeper, & began to see images with the music: me and some other musicians (that I did not recognize) playing instruments that looked like they were made of stainless steel. The song progressed on, & the image seemed to glow with some kind of energy. I woke up suddenly, and knew I had to get as much recorded as possible, so I went right to work. The first "solo" you hear, done with a kind of low-tech sounding wah, is actually the very first take of that part of the song. After I laid down the tracks, I thought about the dream, & the images dictated the name.
